Epidural Anaesthesia

Published: 07 May 2017

An epidural anaesthetic is a great way to reduce pain in a pet that is having surgical procedure on either of its hind limbs ~ they do not feel their legs at all for a few hours after the surgery, which may be a little weird for some of them, but it also reduces the anaesthetic requirement during the actual procedure, and this is safer and better for the pet all round. Here you can see the anaesthetic being injected ~ it will enter the epidural space around the nerves and work its magic.
