A surgical pelvic fracture in a cat

Published: 16 Dec 2019

Cat's and cars don't mix! This poor kitty came off badly after she was hit by one. The x-rays in the video show that she suffered a bilateral subluxation of the sacroiliac joints - an injury that required surgical correction. Some pelvic fractures can heal very well without surgical intervention but this one needed to have a screw and pin placed in each side to reduce the luxation. The post-operative x-rays clearly show the difference.

She's now able to stand and walk a little and hopefully in two months she'll return to her normal life.
