Oh! And of course...

We come to you. Collection & Delivery (otherwise known as "C&D" to DKC insiders <wink>) in Dubai, across the United Arab Emirates, or even beyond. We come to you in specially fitted, secure and safe, air‑conditioned animal transport vehicles, as you would expect.

And we don't send "drivers". In fact, we don't even employ "drivers". We have trained animal handlers and that's who will come to you. This means that the same animal handlers who care for your pet when he or she is boarding or relocating with us, and who work with you in our reception and on the phones, day in and day out, are also the ones meeting with you at your home. Worried about your pet's stay? Have special instructions? Talk it through with us before we come to collect or deliver, or with our handler at your home on the day.

For C&D within Dubai, we operate Sunday‑Thursday from mid‑morning to mid‑afternoon. To set up a schedule for other locations and for all pricing, just get in touch.

And make your booking early!

Now please, do not worry at all if you see a snout sticking out one of our front passenger windows ~ that's our advanced navigation system!

We have 55 individual kennels which cater for all sizes of dog, from the Yorkie to the Great Dane.

Each kennel is comprised of an air-conditioned bedroom area which leads to an outside run from where your dog can see its neighbour and watch the busy daily life of the kennels.

Dogs are individually exercised in one of the five exercise areas at least twice a day.

Each dog is checked over and groomed daily. All visiting dogs are bathed regularly. Bedding is supplied by DKC.

Our Admission Forms and Terms & Conditions are very important forms/documents that you will need to complete when we take your pets into our care. You can do this when you arrive at our premises, or if you would prefer, download them now, take your time with them, complete them electronically (if you have Adobe Acrobat installed) or by hand, and then send them in or bring them with you already complete on the day you bring your pet in. It's up to you.

REMEMBER TO BOOK EARLY EARLY EARLY !!

Every summer and Christmas period we are very full, sadly having to turn away requests from a lot of customers. While we do try to help everyone find boarding elsewhere, we strongly recommend that you book early for both the busy summer and Christmas/New Year periods. Recent years suggest that for flexible summer reservations you really need to try to start booking as early as 9-10 months in advance, believe it or not, and for Christmas/New Year start before the preceding summer. We do realise that booking this early for most people is practically impossible, but the nature of things in the UAE, and especially in Dubai, is that space is limited everywhere and the demand is very high, so please do your best to settle your travel plans as early as you can. Frustratingly, if you try booking closer to these periods than we're recommending, getting the dates you want or need becomes increasingly hit and miss.

You can book any time - just contact us

DKC provide and primarily depend on Eukanuba & Iams, Hill's Science Plan and Royal Canin dry for your dogs and cats. We also provide tinned food (Pedigree), and minced chicken and rice when specifically requested or when we see that your pet wants or needs these options instead. We of course do accommodate almost any other diet you wish, but in most cases will require you to either supply that diet yourself or pay for the provision once you return to take your pet home. If your pet requires a particular type of Eukanuba/Iams, Hill's Science Plan, Royal Canin or tinned food that we do not normally stock, we will usually provide for your pet free of charge, but might ask you to pay for and take with you any unfinished packages.

If your pet is neither a dog nor a cat but another type of cuddly being altogether, we may or may not cover the cost for you of providing the necessary diet. We will agree this with you before you leave your pet with us.

Finally, as a general rule we feed your pets once a day ~ cats are fed in the morning so that they can nibble away all day long, and most dogs are fed in the late-afternoon, with the notable exceptions of very large breeds (e.g. German Shepherds, Great Danes, Dobermanns, etc.) who generally fare better with two, not-quite-so-large, feedings a day, and puppies who are fed three times a day. Of course, if you have any special wishes, just let us know, but experience tells us that for almost all dogs and cats, these routines work extremely well.

Go to next section...Go to previous section... Vaccination

All dogs and cats must be fully up to date with regard to vaccinations before they can board at DKC. If their vaccinations are older than 12 months, a booster is necessary.

Required vaccinations are:

Cats: Rabies. Also, Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopnia (first-time vaccinations must be at least 21 days old so that the required antibodies can develop), usually administered as a single, combined injection and more commonly known by their brand names, Tri-cat, Feligen, Feval5 and Fel-O-Vax.
Dogs: Rabies. Also, Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus, usually administered as a single, combined injection and more commonly known as DHLP. A similar combined vaccination called DHLPP is also acceptable and includes Canine Parainfluenza, helping to protect against Canine Cough (first-time vaccinations must be at least 21 days old so that the required antibodies can develop). However, whether or not your pet is vaccinated against Canine Parainfluenza, we still require a separate Canine Cough vaccination against Bordatella and strongly suggest the nasal application for greater and longer protection (this vaccination must be administered at least 14 days before your pet boards with us).
Rabbits: If you are importing your rabbit to us, then vaccinations will be required for Rabies, Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD) and Myxomatosis (first-time vaccinations must be at least 21 days old so that the required antibodies can develop).
Ferrets:

Rabies. First vaccination should be done at 12 weeks old and repeated annually.

Should your pet become ill during his/her stay at DKC, a vet will immediately be consulted.

Go to next section...Go to previous section... Frontline®

Frontline® is a tick & flea preventative which we like to apply to all our boarders, and which must be applied upon arrival. It is a small pipette of liquid which is administered to the skin between the shoulder blades of the dog or cat. Frontline® protects against fleas for 2 months and ticks 1 month.

We provide Frontline® or it can be obtained from your vet.
